I always enjoy seeing photos of special guns you guys post so thought I would share another of mine. In this hobby, I find half the fun is discovering a special gun and the other half is sharing it with others who appreciate old metal tubes. I found this one in a local gun shop a few years ago but the stock had been varnished by the previous owner. After stripping off the finish, I applied some Danish oil and cleaned the rifle. As you can tell by some of the screws heads, Ned Knurl was the former owner who did not own a set of correct screwdrivers. The rifle is in better shape than I am and we share the same birth year which makes this piece just that much more special to me. I have yet to see another specimen in better condition than this one and it shoots as well as it looks. I am not sure if the sling is correct for this rifle and hope someone can advise me. I would lean towards the 1907 sling as that is all I have ever seen on one. The rifle was used in inter service competitions and later ROTC groups as a competition rifle so the 1907 is the sling which the military used for that purpose. You can clean up the screw slots by peening the metal back into the slot and recut the slots with needle files. A little blue to touch them up and they would look new. "What happened? I found a new stock for my 1922, original finish, not sanded, and still have not put it on yet. Maybe this winter, going to be laid up with knee surgery soon, might get to spend some time working in the basement, if I can get down there. Very nice looking '22. Larry

Do you know if your stock source has an additional M2 stock? Additional Suggestions are welcome. Thanks, Eric

Guys I wish I could help with the stock questions. I found mine just by watching the auctions and trader boards, and I am sure the guy I bought from doesn't have any more. They don't come along very often. I did see some Winchester 52 stocks that were being made currently by some company. Saw them on Epay and GunBroker.com. Maybe they are planning on offering some.
