I took a look at a WWII rearsenaled 1903 that had been drilled and tapped but then filled. Just trying to figure out if this was a restored bubba or legit rearsenaled rifle. Does anyone have any tips on what to look for on a 1903.

It is highly unlikely that any US arsenal would refurbuish any such rifle. They just replaced the "damaged" receivers with new. The only exception to this is the refurbishment of WW1 sniper rifles that had two holes drilled on the side of the receiver. They did plug the holes and then stake the screws on the inside of the receiver rail. I have one such rifle.

The barrel in this one is dated 1930.
