I'm gonna start reloading with my dad and I was wondering where's a good place to buy brass and bullets for our Garands.
I would like to find some of the specialty bullets like armor piercing incendiary, soft points.. etc...etc

The 30-06 is a very common round, ask hunters, hunting supply stores and shooting ranges around your area. You may find once fired brass for free.
Search this site for comments on reloading for the Garand as you can damage the 'Op Rod' with the wrong powder. Also search here for recommended reloading manuals and techniques. http://www.gibrass.com/ is a good source for 'pull down' components, brass and bullets. Jeff's supply is much smaller than it has been over the last few years. Here is a list of vendors and sources to try. They all have web sites but not all are listed. RANGE PICKUP BRASS | ||
|
Even though prices on brass have gone thru the roof, you would be surprised how much brass I pickup at the ranges when I shoot. I pick up everything and what
I don't use goes in my brass bucket or to friends as swaps for what I need. Some is obviously unusable and I visually check the brass for defects and have
had no problems. I have more 308 , 30-06 and 45ACP than I can ever use and I still keep picking it up.
My only rule is "WHEN IN DOUBT, THROW IT OUT" Good luck reloading and be careful. George 1108. |
