Complete, as sold some eighty years ago....box, papers, cleaning rod....pistol in 99% factory original condition!! Whoever originally purchased this pistol way back when, some 85 years ago, must have took to heart H&R's recommendation to keep the pistol "clean and well oiled". Thanks for sharing. Jim Hauff H&R Collector. p.s. Are there any dates or date codes anywhere on the box or on the owner's manual? One of the first things I did after recieving it, was to closely check the box, literature and even the envelope that contains the factory cleaning rod, for dates, codes, printers marks, etc. Unfortunately nothing, however after viewing your post, I did check again. It dawned on me that there are markings on the bottom of the box that I failed to post. There is a number, the pistols serial number, in ink done with a device and two penciled markings that I suspect are the original seller's price/cost code way back when, epf over tthx perhaps. I will take a high resolution photo of these tomorrow and see if you or some of the others Sites members see something in them that I do not. Here are photos of the H&R .32 and .25 SL along with a Webley .25 hammer model. Webley also produced a hammerless .25 model. I believe the H&R's were an improvement on the Webley's, as H&R used coil main springs in lieu of V main springs for the Webley's. While cleaning out my parents house, I found my grandfathers pistol that has been missing since 1942 and thought lost. Turns out its the same type as yours, only older with serial number 17358. I wonder how old it can be? Unfortunately, its not as pristine as yours -- it was just wrapped in an old pillowcase, and being a total ignoramous regarding handguns, I was wondering if you or any others on this fine forum could point me in the right direction regarding the correct way to clean, care and store it without ruining it. I'll use the email-link you provided in a previous post if you don't mind. I'd love a copy of the document you showed earlier. Again, thanks.
