Stock Sets and Hardware for No1Mk.3* |

Does anyone know what the quality of the Stock sets available at Numrich? If not, does anyone have a source of sets that they recommend? I am also looking for
a Nosecap and screws.

I purchased a 4-piece No1 stock set from Numrich several years ago. I don't recall the exact price but I believe it was under $80 shipped. I received a
luan-type mahogany set probably from India. The four pieces were in new, unissued condition but the forend was marked DP and had some milling tear-outs which I
repaired and had the dreaded Ishy screw. Correction: the rear handguard assembly was also new but was a white wood with a dark brown stain which didn't
match well with the other 3 pieces. The buttstock, forend and front handguard all required a lot of inletting (buttstock actually required a lot of wood
removal across the comb). Not a project I hope to repeat but satisfactory to restore an otherwise un-fireable rifle to firing condition.
Therefore, I recommend a used stock set from Springfield Sporters; used to be $30 + shipping when available. Usually Indian, much less expensive, already inletted and in at least good condition, probably with some metal pieces for good measure. They will also have your nosecap. Best wishes. As Masterchief said, the SpringfieldSporter stock set has all the hardware, to include the buttplate, bands, screws, etc... The only negative is they have the
Ishapore screw and some DP stamps.

Springfield also has a few Walnut EFD manufacture unissued fore ends. I think they also have some Aussie extra long butt stocks in walnut.

Many thanks on the pointer to Springfield. I happened to know a person who wanted to unload a "Wild Tiger Corps" rifle, and I jumped on the chance.
It is my very first rifle. The Enfield addiction is strong in this one
