"In the wrap" Russian M44 |

Picked this up for $140 shipped. After I removed the wax paper and cleaned off all the grease, there was a beautiful, unissued-looking 1946 specimen with a
mint bore (and no refurb marks). Thought these "still in the wrap" guns were extinct but every now and then one pops up for sale. Anyhow, that's
my January find

Looks nice! Probably never saw the light of day before you opened it up.
I have an M-44 I picked up at a show a while back and while it didn't come wrapped, it does look brand new and unfired. Mine's a 1948. |

Lookin good!! I have a '45 date that looks the same way. It was refurbed, however it has a mint bore and looks as though it was never issued! Congrats on
the nice find!!

That's a very nice rifle! I got a couple of 5-fer in the wrap specials from Century maybe five years ago; I lose track of time. There were some VERY nice
rifles under those covers including one that is completely original with all the stock cartouches and another with a spectacular stock that looks like light
walnut that must have been reworked from a much older stock. The grain follows the curve in the stock curve perfectly. Carl

I have a 1948 dated that was in the wrap. It is very nice with a really blond stock. It was refurbed but probably never used before it was refurbed. I
think they were $99 or $109 about 5 years ago. I think you got a good deal. The wrap was really old looking and oily.
