Is there a reason not to shoot cast bullets in the polygonal barrel of the 82 ?

Glock recommends not shooting cast bullets in their polygonal barrels.

I've shot some lead thru my 82 without any problems.think the concern is,if there is a leading problem excessive pressures can develop.if no leading, than
no problems. jwr

Just a guess....The polygonal barrel is a wee more prone to lead fouling that CANNOT
be readily descernable. Then a pressure build.

I have shot many thousand cast lead bullets through both my Glock 22 and a CZ-82 without any ill effects. I cast my own and use a hard alloy. After a day at
the range I just run a bronze brush through the bores and have never had any sign of any problem. Accuracy is the same with the cast bullet as the high priced
jacketed stuff and much cheaper. I wouldn`t try to use real soft lead because you may get some leading problems. Just keep a eye on the bore and if you see
leading occuring, clean it.
