I have 2 No4MK1 rifles, both are in excellent condition, as far as bore, stock and finish. One rifle has the 2 stage trigger, the other rifle does not and has maybe a 1lb trigger pull. I took the rifles shooting today for the second time since purchasing and the rifle with the problem discharged after I chambered a round and as I was bringing it up to my shoulder. After that I unloaded it and tried cocking it again and it would fire on it's own. It would not stay cocked.I took it apart and could not find anything I could put my finger on as to why this is happening. The rifle looks like it was refinished and then sold(CAI import). There is virtually no wear on the finish. The mag kept dropping out also but I was able to fix that by filing a small amount off the catch on the mag and now it locks up tight. I was thinking of replacing the sear but I am not sure what to do. Again, it looks like the rifle was refinished and sold. The seller never mentioned either problem to me and they were quite apparent as soon as I tried the rifle out the first time. I had the mag drop after the first shot and every shot there after. The trigger pull was 1LB or less but did not fire on it's own the first time out. Any help with the trigger problem or suggestions is appreciated. I tried the bolt from the other No4 and it did the same thing. Could the sear be worn out or a fit problem with the stock? I attached the trigger with the stock off and had the same problem so I doubt it is a stock problem. I did file down areas of the stock that might interfer and I saw no noticable change.
