This last Sunday, I visited the California Military Museum, in Old Sacramento, CA. Nice place with lots of stuff to see from 1850 to the present day. Two
floors of exhibits.
They have a small sampling of firearms and many Uniforms and related military items.
I did observe one thing. They had an M1 Garand that had a serial number of 137 . I have never seen an M1 with such a low number. I told the curator that I thought that
he had an M1 that was worth quite a few dollars. He was aware of this. He said that that M1 was one of their prize possessions. He advised that he thought that the
riflle had been issued to the California National Guard. Rifle looked to be in pretty good condition. The handguard had a few dings. Other than that it was nice.
Just 'ball park'. What do you think this rifle is worth?
