I don't see anyone posting here so I will offer information from Lyman's Reloading Manual.
It states, 220gr, RN, .309" jacketed bullet with muzzle velocity of 2200 FPS, 40,000 CUP max pressure. Heavy caution for inspecting receiver, bolt etc. for cracks and weakness. 220gr jacketed SP lists RX19 as best powder. Other powders IRM4895, IRM4064, N150, IRM4350, IMR4350, XMR3100, N4831SC. I won't list powder charges here as they are copyrighted. You can find load data from Hodgden, IMR and bullet manufacturers web sites. They also list several cast bullet loads and suggest these rifles are a prime candidate for cast loads. |

You can drive a cast bullet allmost as fast as a jacketed bullet in a Krag. Different story if you are one of the lucky few who has a Ruger # 3 in 30-40 Krag

Three from the Hodgdon website. The maximum loads are very close to original military velocity.
