Interesting gun. The best venue to sell that TS carbine would be GunBroker, IMHO. The selling points are the WWI date, and the original walnut stock without
the lower barrelband, and the original transverse bayonet lug and bayonet. The cleaning rod and sling are nice extras. The steel scabbard is interesting. I
read somewhere that the transverse lock bayonets were issued with the steel scabbard so they could be easily identified from the regular Carcano bayonets that
came with the black leather scabbards. IIRC, a TS carbine with the old fashioned stock with the single barrel band sold for over $250 on GunBroker a few months
ago. I can't remember if the bayonet lug was converted to take the standard bayonet or not. If I was to sell the carbine, I'd include the
bayonet....it's in sort of rough condition unfortunately.

I guess you could rebuild the bayonet using the blade and quillion off a regular Carcano sword bayonet. That's what I would do if I owned that carbine and
bayonet and wanted to keep them in the collection.

Wouldn't that be "messing with history?"

The blade and quillion of that bayonet have far more "history" than I would want
