Took my 5 year old grandson to the range for the first time today. He had previously shot a BB rifle but this was his first time shooting the .22's.
The rimfire plinking range at RBGC has a number of steel swinging targets as well as a really nice covered firing point so we had a great time despite the
steady rain.
Here he is shooting my dad's Winchester 67 single shot. He put close to 100 rounds thru it today. He also shot his mothers Remington 597 semi but he had
trouble loading the magazine so he spent most of the time shooting the family heirloom rifle. It was my Dad's first rifle that he bought when he was 12 or
13. Me, my son Bob, and now James have all fired our first shots with it.

It didn't take him long to learn how to load and cock it by himself.

He had a go with all 3 of my .22 handguns.
He couldn't shoot this one double action even using 2 fingers. There is a video at the bottom of this post of how he cocked it to shoot sincle action.
