CZ52 markings |
Lead | |
|
I have CZ52 made in 1954 & I just noticed it has marking's I have never noticed before. The marking's appear on the frame just above the trigger
area. As follows VOP 91 then there is C3 in a small oval & just below the above is 97.I was thinking VOP was a East German police marking ?????. Any
ideas???? I am not very good at postin pictures or I would do so.

It pays to read information already posted...I now understand that the VOP 91 is a refurbishment date, but I did not see any mention of the C3 in an oval or the
97 which I assume is a later date .

STAMPING MARKS, IMPORTANT MEANINGS · All CZ52s are marked RID. Other Czech post-war armory codes included AYM, TGF and SHE, although none of these have been found on CZ52's. A military pistol can be identified by the crossed swords stamped on the frame. · On most CZ52's are marked with the following stampings: · RID = brno moravia built · VOZ = a rearsenaled pistol with the year of rework stamped on it as part of a 1970's era program. Later this stamp was changed to VOP · Crossed Swords = denotes an army pistol · Circle With T on chamber = tested and proofed · Z stamping on frame near trigger = retrofitted decocker safety · 52 to 55 = the year the pistol was built · CAI.ST.ALBANS.VT = Century Arms imported pistol · INT OR INTER.CO = Interarms Company import |

Thank you for the reply telling me the meaning of the markings....Still I have no idea what the C3 that is surrounded by an oval means & what apears to be
an additional date of 97 just above the trigger guard.Help with these marking would be appreciated.
