Has anyone tried to load 123 grain SP bullets for SKS /AK rifles in a 30/30 bolt action?
Thanks Mike

Most SKS bullets are pointed so you wouldn't want to use them in a 30-30 with a tubular magazine it might chain fire. You should use flat or round tipped
bulets in most 30-30 rifles. The only real safe pointed bullet for a tubular magazine is the LeverEvolution ammo from Hornady.

You must have a Savage or Rem 788. Both feed from a clip,so any pointed bullet will work. Yes the bullet will work even if it is bigger. If Ruger can make
their mini 30 ranch rifle (.308 bore) work with all 7.62 X39 ammo ,I don't see why you can't use the same bullets. Be sure to start with low pressure
loads to get a idea of how far you can push this. Its very possible that the larger dia bullet my make the neck too large to chamber the round or allow enough
room to expand at fireing. Be sure to check this before you shoot . That being said many cast bullet loads for the 3030 use slugs that oversize and they do
work.

It seems most do not believe you when you say this 3030 is a bolt action rifle and assume you mean lever action.
There are 3030 bolt guns or at least it is possible to order one and I know there have been such although I have no idea why someone would want one instead of the vastly superior 308. And while one can use the .312 123gr bullet it does seem more reasonable to use a 125gr 308. But, if one acquires a fair lot of 123gr .312 bullets and has no other use for them sure, you can but as mentioned above, take a few precautions. Wulfmann
