T38 Safety Question |
Lead | |
|
Hello all, My T38 rifle has a safety with a concave cut-out, I was told that the correct safety has a projection. Do I have a T99 safety ? No matter really,
that's how grandpa shipped it home from Guadacanal, just curious though.

Early T38 had a long tang, then was shortened to a short one and the to the concave cutout. T99 from the beginning had the cut out. Without evidence to the
contrary I would say your safety is correct. riceone

Just to add a "face" to what Riceone has indicated, I offer these pic.s ...Hope it helps!
this is the mid-production safety or "small tang"
And lastly this is the last product design and more common safety

Thank you guys. My bolt isn't matched to the serial number, I wonder what type of safety would be correct for a Tokyo made T38 ser. 1222686 ?
