Posts: 7 (04/13/09 03:27 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Tags : None According to the serial number the rifle was produced in September, 1918: The Eddystone marked barrel is dated August, 1918: The numbers 30.06 were stamped and once painted red on the bottom of the forestock behind the stacking swivel: Sling is marked: W. (?) & B. CO 1918 C.A.C. One side of bayonet is stamped 1917 over a Remington Mark: The other side of the bayonet has U.S. Ordnance Marks: Not shown: There are CAI import marks stamped on the bottom of the barrel just behind the front sight band. I would deeply appreciate any additional information anyone can provide about this rifle and its accouterments based on these photos. It has just a tiny fleck of red paint under the forend to show where the marking 30-06 might have been. It also has another fleck on the forend, all that's left of the red band. No numbers stamped on the stock, and it has a normal 1917 front sight. It's blued, instead of parked; the Canadians blued their reworks. Mine is pretty much a mixmaster; Remington receiver, Winchester bolt, Edystone 1918 barrel. I wish they had left it alone, it has a 4 digit serial number.

I don't remember who manufactured it. I believe all the marked parts on my M17 are Eddystone so its pretty compete except for the Canadian front sight.
