I bought this rifle recently from a milsurp collector. I thought
I would show it off a bit. Original, all matching M48A with
cool stock on it. He said it was a good shooter too.

At the risk of hair-splitting, it's actually a 48B - stamped trigger guard.

I see a stamped floor plate.
Nice M48b. Rub a couple coats of BLO into
it to really see the stripes.

That is a really nice one. You should be proud of it.

Thanks ! This one is special and I'm lucky to have it. The receiver is marked M48A. I did not know there was an M48B. It does have a stamped floor plate. dxr . |

M48A = Stamped magazine floor plate, other parts are milled.
M48B = Stamped trigger guard, magazine floor plate, follower, forward band, and H-band. The thing to remember here is that even though the rifle may be in "B" configuration, the receiver marking did not change. Hence, a "B" model rifle will say "M48A" on the receiver. This causes a lot of confusion. In any case, you have a dang nice rifle! |

Bear -- thanks for clearing this up. This particular rifle evidently is an M48A. It has the stamped floor plate, but the magazine follower, upper band, lower band, and trigger guard are milled. dxr . |
