Why is it that rifles always come along when you don't have extra money. I was still going to bid on this rifle but had no idea it would go so cheap.

I think I'll save those pictures so I can keep an eye out for that type of stock for my Chilean.
That went for an exceptionally low price.

Probably the only reason it went so cheap is because I was not bidding on it. When was the last time you saw one of those curved Chilean bolts. With all the
barreled actions I have for those short rifles I was an idiot for not slapping $300 on that auction. That one piece would just about have completed my
Chilean's...1893 rifle, 1895 rifle, 1895 carbine, 1912 rifle, 1912/61 short rifle. I know I did not list the 1895 Nato but I really never wanted one of
those....

Did they have a curved and straight bolt carbine model in the A code 1912 Chilean??? I can't remember if mine has a straight or curved bolt. Mine is mostly
matching except a couple parts. I haven't looked at it in years, but it is a blast to shoot! Not as pretty as this one, typical woodline pitting.

W.D. Ball says in MMRW 3rd Edition that Chilean 1912 short rifles should have a curved bolt handle. He also states the Mexican 1912 SR and Columbian 1912 SR
are just like the it. I believe he used the same picture for the Mexican 1912 SR as he did for the Chilean 1912 SR.

what have you got to trade for a short rifle? If it is all you need to complete your collection, I best pull mine out and look it over. Not a perfect example, but mostly matching metal. As I recall the stock is a m/m. gil |
