My CZ52 shoots high, any suggestions? |

I can shoot this from a bench rest at 15 to 20 yards at a sheet of paper aiming at the bottom edge and the round will hit 10" higher than point of aim.
It's consistent with no side to side movement. The basic military sights are in place with the small blade in front and the rear sight dovetailed in
place. The front blade doesn't go through the slide. Can this be pulled out with vice grips and a new taller blade installed? Thanks for your help.

IMO,
Try different brands/manufacturers of ammo. The blue boxed commercial ammo from a few years back shot way high at any yardage in mine. S&B was spot on, maybe a tad higher than my point of aim, but nowhere near the 10+" the Portuguese blue & white box ammo was giving. That front sight is probably staked into place and will require a 'smith with some skill to get a taller one put back in there and have it actually stay in place.

Thanks. I've been using only mil surp ammo from way back. It's corrosive by cheap. I'd be you are right about the sight blade. What about the
barrel? Could the barrel be the problem? I'm still fishing and wishing. I hate having to aim so low with it. Thanks.

Maybe try a replacement/stronger slide/recoil spring.
Try to shoot at longer distances, like 50 yards, or even 75 and see if you're getting the same results with what you have now. 100 yard shots weren't impossible when I was using Yugo surplus ammo.

I don't know if my 66 yr old eyes and use that short sight radius to line up at 50 yards. I'll try backing up some. I like the slide idea, but
haven't seen a reasonable cost one yet. Thanks for the suggestion.

Just the spring....it shouldn't be prohibitive to replace that piece.

Mine does exactly the same thing (shoots low). I have never fired commercial ammo in mine.
