Afterwards I followed up with a liberal application of hair dryer to get rid of all the water (that's the only reason I keep a hair dryer around since I started shaving my head). Getting those handguards off by hand prior to the shower was tough! hsc

Now I've got that image in my head and can't get it out. I've read where AKs and SKSs were sometimes cleaned by urinating on them in the field. Maybe that's why some of them have that peculiar odor to them! But, showering with your AR? Wowzer. Rome A patriot must always be ready to defend his country against his government.

Other than shooting Black Powder, I really can't see the utility in this cleaning technique. How does it work, one hand for the gun, one hand for the soap, and does soap and water actually cut modern centerfire cartridge fouling? Could this possibly be the basis for many a long lost love??? Mtn. Doc said: "If we had an Odd Post Hall Of Fame this would make the grade for sure." Yep, but it would place somewhere below "Zombie Bolt Guns" on any such HoF list. It was December, it had rained all day, the range was course sand, and we all crawled the entire 150 meters from trench to trench. Upon returning to the barracks we all trailed in pounds of sand and we all stepped directly into the shower to get most of it off our selves and equipment before stripping and going to our bunks. The next day was spent shoveling (yes, shoveling) the sand out of the shower, cleaning the barracks and our weapons. The weapons were cleaned first, then the barracks, then us, again. That time I had shot a K98 with Romo ammo (you know how dirty it is) and really did bring the barreled receiver into the shower to cut time. I was at my parents' house and needed to get that done before jetting back down to Charlotte where I lived. Worked really well. Hot water from the shower down the bore was fast and very effective. This time I just took the upper into the shower and didn't actually shower myself. Nothing cleans like hot water! I love the jokes people make on this though...........which is partly why I posted it! hsc PS: I don't use a bar of soap, AXE gel man! AXE . That is true in many situations. Here's a tip: Ever scrubbed the corrosion off of your vehicles battery terminals? Coat them in baking soda paste to neutralize the acid? Try slowly pouring plain old HOT water over the battery cable connections instead. You'll never scrub again....
