But they outdid themselves, or the packer grabbed a nice one off of the rack and shipped it without seeing who they were shipping it to...
The bluing is 85% or better, the bore is near perfect, almost as if it hasn't been fired.
The crest is sharp and clear and 100% intact, there are some really neat stamps all over the receiver and under the woodline.
This one came with both swivels and a cleaning rod.
It has a few dings in the wood, but the cartouche and serial number stamps are intact and very readable.
Now for the nit-picky:
The rod doesn't match.
The stock matches the receiver, but the bolt doesn't, but the headspace go & no go gauges indicate it is within specs.
It is disassembled, waiting to be degreased completely.
After I get it all wiped down, I'll take some pictures and post them up.
The trauma caused by the first one has been erased by the niceness of this one.
It looks better than the ones I saw at Gander Mountain a few weeks ago for the same amount of $$.
Well, the GM's were $299.99 plus tax, which would've put it right up there with the SG price.
They are getting them from I/O (both GM and SG).
Anyhow, with all of the SG bashing that occurs allover the internet, I thought I'd post a positive comment.
They made the return/exchange right with this one.
Much, much better than the first one, inside and out!
