I up load mine to a separate folder then pull the up and re size to 640x480.
Refile it, then when you are ready to post it use the one that is listed for forums. I do mine in jpg. shotout

I was told to upload the "HQ" photos to Photobucket and to send to a website by using the "thumbnail" option rather than resizing my photos
at Photobucket. Cropping still eludes me.

Ed,
Using the thumbnail option with your "high quality" photos on photobucket simply gives the viewer the opportunity to see your subjects more "life-sized" and with better clarity / detail....... without sucking up tons of bandwidth here on the website. If they don't want to wait 15 minutes for the picture to download on their computer (dial-up) they just don't click on the thumbnail. If they really, really want to see those proof stamps up close and personal - then they can click on it.... For "general use" posting photos with a 640x480 format such as shotout/skeyed uses is perfectly fine. It is what most people do, most of the time. It's when you start posting HG format photos (ie. 1024x768 and such...) here on the website, is when it causes problems. I do the same thing with "general" pictures (try to keep the size down) but when I need to show something in great detail, I will use a thumbnail here and a monsterous HG photo sitting on photobucket. You don't have to stick to "one or the other". Mix it up!

HP: Thanks; your response is appreciated. I have beating my head against the wall trying to crop the photos on Photobucket and make them "stick"
there; lost a couple of my Photobucket file photos during my attempts but got them reloaded with no trouble.

Ed: I understand the frustration of trying to learn this stuff in the beginning stages all too well.
Have you been able to successfully crop a photo and view the result? It seems like you have, but just haven't been "saving" the new photo in your file / album? Does that sound accurate? Regards, HP p.s. You might want to get as close as you can to your "subject", so you don't have to do much cropping - if at all..... hth.
