Things must be starting to look up. |

I noticed in todays paper, Big 5 has Yugo M24/47 rifles for sale for $249.95. Nothing that trips my trigger, as I already have three of them, but it is the
very first ad they have had for any milsurp rifles since last December. So if rifles are starting to show up in the pipeline again, that is a good sign.

$249 is pricey for one. A year ago $129 would get you one. I paid $199 for an all matching, pristine example less than a year ago. But they are great rifles.

Yes, I agree that the price is a bit on the high side and I would not want to pay that. But the important thing is that it has been the very first milsurp
advertized by Big 5 since well before last Christmas. Its been very dry around here for new finds the past seven months. I think the most I paid for any of
mine was something like $149 from J&G Sales a couple years ago.

The local Big 5 store manager explained what is happening behind the scenes. Essentially all of the milsurps they have sold in the past came from CAI, but
Century's sources have finally started to dry up and they can no longer supply the entire chain reliably at reasonable prices. Big 5 has to buy for
hundreds of stores, and they want to have the same prices and items everywhere. Now they will carry whatever they can find in large enough quantities, and
will buy from any importer or wholesaler who can deliver.

Well,at least there is SOMETHING in the pipe line.Ammo, semi auto handguns, reloading supplies, are starting to trickle back into retail outlets a little bit at a
time.Hopefully, the hard times are starting to go away. Who knows, maybe the Ruskies will decide that now is the time to open up some of those "mile
long" warehouses of weapons and new stuff will hit our shores.
