A local gun shop has a bubba-upped Enfield in stock for $150. It is mostly complete except the hand guards are gone and the wood under the barrel has been cut
back. The metal caps for the guards are also gone. On the bright side it has both ring and sling mounts still attached. The receiver is marked No4 Mk1
without an asterisk. "1943 England" is stamped near the rear stock. The rear stock has a bit of writing still left on it "_YN" (I know
there is a Y but not sure about the rest) and "RNR". The barrel has a 'B' stamped where the rear hand guard would be. It has the flip up
sights. The bore looks really nice.
First what I want to know is this rifle worth the money. Then secondly, is there a place I can get the handguards and metal ends? It looks like someone polished the rear stock with 80 grit sandpaper since the wood looks like it has deep scratches in it. I don't want to lose all the history of the rifle so I wouldn't replace that unless necessary.
