CBC 7.62X51 question |
Lead | |
|
A friend gave me some 7.62X51 surplus ammo. The headstamp has CBC, 7.62, 76. My friend thought there had been a recall on this lot of ammo and sent it back to
the distributor. They sent it back to him saying they didn't know what he was talking about.. This was several years ago. Does anyone recall a problem with
this ammo? Is this good ammo and also non-corrisive?
Any and all thoughts will be appreciated. Ken |

There was a post elsewhere on CBS
7.62. Apparently the 1975, not '76 was recalled. 130,000 CUP recorded on scattered rounds. Eek.

I don't want to go on record as vouching for the '76 as being safe, just relaying info I found that it wasn't on the recall.
An interesting question would be how the Brazilians even allowed the unsafe ammo to be shipped to Argentina. And why Argentina bought it, since they were capable of producing their own ammo. Or if it was booby-trapped, and why. Deep mystery. 'holic |

Have some. Shoot it. No issues. I treat it as corrosive. Dave
