Serial # 6547 also Under the grips are two eagles. the leather frog is dated 1938 with some Hard to see words looks the be the makers name Looks like -
EC.Gotre & Sohn Gersoort 1938 . The scabbard is marked S178G With serial # 2776J

Hello You have there a nice J.Sch. bayonet, made in 1935 under code S/245, WaA155 is probably stamped there, scabbard is probably a Gebr.Heller same year under
S,178 code. best regards,Andy

www.old-smithy.info has a table showing all makers marks and years used, including known double dates, mixed
scabbard/blade combinations etc. It also has pictures of most of the markings and variations
