Ruger factory letter |

I was at a gunshow last month & asked the guy with a quarter-mile long Ruger collection about my brass framed Super Blackhawk. He told me to email Ruger to
see if it shipped that way. I have lettered 4 S&W handguns @ $50 each, but Ruger does it free! The web site says they will answer in 5 working days &
it took 3 weeks, but I am a satisfied customer. Oh, by the way, it DID ship in 1972 with a brass frame. I aquired it a few years later.

I am becoming more and more a Ruger fan, was formerly a "S&W collector/nut" and never got much into the Colt's, but the Speed Six I bought a
few months ago, along with the 6" GP100 I have had for about a year, have sparked a new interest in Ruger DA revolvers for me.
How detailed is the letter? My stainless Speed Six 4" was made in 1974, an early "pre barrel warning" model and has lots of holster wear (for a stainless gun) and I was curious if a Ruger letter could tell me if it was ordered by a LE agency. |

The 'letter' is simply an e-mail response to an inquiry. I suppose if I asked who it shipped to, they may have included that info. As it was, they gave
me the model #, month & year of manufacture, & stated 'shipped with a brass frame'. Not as cool as a Smith letter, but cheaper! Hey, give it a
try. Please post back if they give you that info.
