I'm totally new to reloading and the proverbial head is spinning a bit with info but I'm slowly getting a grasp on the type of components I may need. I just bought a Lee Classic Cast press last week and believe this is a solid press and will serve me well. A mate of mine suggested I go for the Lee Deluxe Dies for 303 Brit but I understand there are companies like Lyman, Redding and RCBS who seem to garner a bit more respect on some products?
Can anybody advise me which dies may be the best for my requirements? Am I right in assuming that Lyman and others do only the 2 die sets and a collet die would have to be bought seperately? Advice on a good powder thrower and scales as well as case trimmer would be apreciated also. Brands I should stick to etc, brands to avoid? I also picked up a Lee Auto Prime while I was at it but have halted my purchases for reloading here so far.
As an aside ... what methods of resizing are getting you all the most case life from your brass? Are you using a mix of neck sizing and then full length later? Lastly - are you controlling case stretch by using cooler loads?
