1918 SMLE-NRF ?
Just picked up a SMLE that I'm having trouble getting any information about. The butt socket is marked 1918, with the King George cypher, GR, and that's it. The left rear of the receiver is marked "NRF", the receiver, bolt, nosecap, stock, sight are all serial number matching. The receiver is also marked with D^D (Australia?). The bore is real good, the rifle is in overall very good condition, only missing the stacking swivel. I've never seen a SMLE that wasn't marked BSA, Enfield, LSA, Lithgow, etc. Is this one of the "peddle scheme" rifles ? I paid $200.00 for it at a local gun show this past weekend, was this a fair price ?
