I have an old rifle that has the date 1864 to the left of where the hammer is attached and to the right is an eagle with U.S. under it then to the right of that are the letters
SN & W.T.C. below them is what looks like EOR and below that Massachusetts. It is a large bore like maybe 50 caliber. I'm wondering what it is worth. The hammer and trigger do work but other than that I know nothing about it. If you have any ideas what this is worth or who to contact about selling it please let me know. It supposedly belonged to my great grandfather who was a major in the civil war. But he was from N.Y. not Conn. Thank you for an help you can give me.
