It makes me wonder if they are such a good pistol after all. I know the police used them so they can't be all bad but I would think more folks here would have grabbed up at least a few of the $275-300.00 used hi-cap pistols by now. Smokepole

Posts: 275 Dec 18 11 9:02 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I have shot several of the ones that century arms has carried on their trade-in/odd lot lists, (5906, 4003, 4006, 5903), and would imagine the others available elsewhere are of similar use and wear. I would say depending on the model, many were carried more than they were shot. (Make sure you de-fuzz the internals). They have very nice triggers, not quite up to sig 226 level, but a nice distict take-up, then precise break. Lots better trigger than most of the mushier striker fired pistols. They are heavy compared to the new polymer 9's, but the high cap mags are cheap and plentiful, and for "around the house" can't be beat. (No underside rails for lights and gizmos however.) Accuracy seems on the higher side of average, and recoil is a pussycat due to weight. Only malfunction I have seen was with 95 grain flat-nose British royal ordnance (radaway green) ammo with a zippy pressure curve. The pistol I was shooting ate it fine, but may have been more broke-in than the one that showed issues with another shooter... 115/124 grain works fine. Did not test any 147grain. Awesome value, can't be beat unless you need lighter weight, rails, or bragging rights about the latest issue weapon. You will occasionally see the aluminum frame brother, and higher caliber siblings on sale as well. An aluminum frame 40cal 4013tsw enjoys time at my side for carry. (Used trade-in unit as well).

Those are common police sidearms and apparently popular with WV DPS administration, never asked a trooper what he thought about it. hsc

Posts: 1141 May 17 12 9:01 AM Veteran member Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	The 4566 the WV state police carry differs from the 5906 in that it has a decocker only versus the standard 4566 or 5906. I much prefer the decocker only versions.
