I may grab 20 boxes of it though! At least it is here now. If you'll remember, this is similar to the French 7.5x54 surplus ammo scenario of the early 90's. Lots of rifles, very little to no ammo for them except the Syrian stuff. a few years later, poof, real French surplus by the crate load.

Notice how the cylinder moves forward to "seal" the mouth of the cylinder against the forcing cone. Supposed to give it more uphhhhh. The case is supposed to help seal the deal so the bullet is recessed. Great concept but lacking in application.

The home made ammo using 32-20 brass has the bullet showing due to the difference in case length. IMO, grab some of this Russian surplus stuff before it gets gone. Sportsmans Guide has it cheaper than anyone around right now, they just added it in the past few days, but it's by the can only. I'd love to go 1/2's on a can with someone close by. Commercial Nagant ammo is out there, but you have to order it quick when AIM or anyone else on line has it for sale, it disappears quickly. The Prvi stuff reloads a lot easier than the Fiocchi brass.

Though, the Prvi ammo is good quality and not terribly expensive, just difficult to find in quantity. I've never had trouble finding it at shows. It seems that everyone has Nagant revolvers, but few people shoot them very much. I've run a couple hundred rounds of Prvi through mine, and would shoot it more often if I had a can of surplus... The cans at Sportsmans' Guide are already on backorder by the way, it must be flying off the shelves. I don't think I can swing a whole can, but a couple hundred rounds should be coming my way. Posts: 210 Jun 6 12 1:12 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I have been rloading Nagany for years. I bought a pistol in the '60s and no ammo to be had, I paid ten bucks for the pistol. I make my own using 32.20 brass and a M1 Carbine die, it gives the case the correct taper. Yes I still have the pistol.

Haven't had the chance to retry it after a thorough cleaning. Posts: 14438 Jul 11 12 6:38 AM Forum Co-Administrator Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I went through a few boxes of it a few weeks ago, I'm not impressed with the accuracy of it compared to my handloads or the Prvi stuff. It is loaded much hotter than what I've been doing. A few cases required an extra effort to get them out of the cylinder, but nothing stuck. I wish I had brought a few different Nagants with me to see if the accuracy issue was with the revolver or the ammo, but I only had one with me that day.
