I purchased this in Mongolia at an antique store in Ulan Bator (capital). It appears to be Chinese and i have some photos on my profile showing when it was first bought and what it looks like now after a bit of elbow grease. Also do any of you guys know the best way to clean it? any help would be awesome. Thanks, Michael

They are free sites that store and allow minimal editing of photos for free and offer more advanced options for a fee. I mention photobucket because it is very often used and what I use. There are other such and they will automatically make coding for posting pics in forums. You can also upload a limited number of pics here too. Near the top of the page here, from upper left corner... oh heck. Wait an minute... I'll make a pic for you as the old saying sort of goes, a pic is worth a bunch of words... Now, go to the indicated link above right. Just click on that and it will take you to the image hosting page. You should be able to figure it from there but in case not, see the following pics. If you have problems beyond that, just ask and we'll gladly help. One last note, for better viewing, crop your images. If you take a pic of a rifle on your table, You're likely to have the table and much of the room behind. Makes it hard to see the rifle. Trim, "crop" the photo to show only the rifle and as much background as that size will contain. Also resize the cropped image. The uploader will probably resize it automatically but not doing so can make uploading long or difficult. (And yet another thing) You can access your images by clicking on the link above the text box where you type that looks like a framed picture of a mountain and cloud. The image looking like a camera will link directly to a Photobucket account. See orange arrows in first image... In this image below, note the lower right green arrow. That is a drop down box giving you the option to make your album private. Posts: 2549 Jun 20 12 12:08 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I managed to view your pictures of this bayonet in your profile. It is a strange bird. The eagle feather pattern on the grips is common to a few early US bayonets, like the Winchester M1873. The swastikas on the blade and scabbard don't "go" with other features it has. "Bolangning" is a Chinese knife maker. From the appearance of the whole bayonet/scabbard, and it's odd markings and combination of features, my personal opinion is that it is a Chinese "fake". Or, in other words, just another of the many fake things the Chinese are known for making, that are purposely made to deceive by appearing "old" and somewhat resemble actual objects, having just enough features to make one believe it is a genuine item, to sell to unsuspecting tourists or for export. I do not believe it is an actual military piece.

I am off to China soon and hoep to pick up some othese sorts of blades fro my colelction of fantasy, fake and reproductions, but hopefully with a lot lower costs than ordering them from ehre Carl www.old-smithy.info
