Yesterday I attended my first rifle shoot. It was a CMP Garand shoot, but I was allowed to shoot my Yugo M24/47. Targets were at 100 yards and were simulated for: 100 (freehand, slow-fire), 200 (sitting, rapid-fire), 400 (prone, rapid-fire), and 600 yds (prone, slow-fire). I was shooting surplus 1977 Yugo M49 ball. In the end I scored a 284/500. I REALLY need to work on my prone shooting, as I did better freehand and sitting. I also need to get a front sight adjustment tool (which is on the way) so I won't be shooting 2.5" to the left at 100 yds.
All-and-all I had a great time and I'm sure I'll be participating more!
