M44 Hungarian 1953
A new addition to the family. Stopped at one of our local gun shops earlier in the week and came across this M44.
Left a deposit and returned this evening to pick it up. As best I can tell it is a 1953 Hungarian M44. It is a mix master of
parts. 02 at the top of the receiver, 1953 below that followed by the serial number, BK and 4 digits. A second number is stamped on the left
side of the receiver as well, BC followed by 4 digits and an X. Recoil pad is a different number and so is the floor plate of the
magazine. Both begin with the letters CA. The bluing is worn at the muzzle and on the receiver. No cleaning rod, no tool kit, no sling.
02 is stamped on the recoil pad, stock, bolt, etc.
The clerk at the shop said it was a trade in and he did not know anything beyond that. Does not appear to have had a lot of TLC.
The bore is dirty but no pits or rust. The stock is grimy as is the bolt. Has not been cleaned or had a patch put through it in sometime.
Will attempt to attach a few images.
