Browning BLR sight mount
A friend of mine who has been confined in a wheel chair since high school bought a Browning BLR in .308 at auction. It didn't have any sights. He didn't want a scope and the cost of having iron sights put back on was unacceptable. So I ordered him a Bushnell TRS-25 and a EGW one piece scope base made for a Remington 870. I wanted a one piece base as a two piece wouldn't have given enough purchase for the sight. I machined in two more holes to fit the BLR and installed the sight. I went to the range and set up, fired three rounds at 25 yards. Not bad, fifty cent piece sized group, low and right. Made a swag and fired three more. All in the bull. Wow. Went to 100 and fired three more, all in the black. I'm sort of impressed with this rifle and I've never liked a lever gun.
"We must all hang together, or most assuredly we shall all hang separately."
Benjamin Franklin, July 4 1776
"There have been many wise warnings that freedom is seldom lost all at once. It is usually eroded away, bit by bit, until it is all gone. You may not notice a gradual erosion while it is going on, but you may eventually be shocked to discover one day that it is all gone, that we have been reduced from citizens to subjects, and the Constitution has become just a meaningless bunch of paper."
