Fully Turked 1888 Commission Rifle
Picked up this Commission rifle fully Turked in 1940. The seller says all serial numbers are arsenal stamped and matching. The serial number is at the upper end of the range for 1940 updated rifles on the Turkish Mauser site and I added it to the serial number survey. Been looking for a nice fully Turked example to complement my nearly orginal Turked Gew 88. This one looks pretty unmessed with. The seller says it has no import stamp and the bore is good, with strong rifling. His photos are not too good. No cracks in the stock. $314.95 shipped, but I have seen these go for quite a bit more in this condition. What do you think?
