It has been two years since a post was made on this subject.
I don't shoot "practical" anymore, the guy running that discipline burned out and didn't want to run it anymore. Nobody else has "stepped up to the plate," to include me.
So I've been shooting the Bulls Eye matches. I was using a S&W Model 10 (four inch) with a Bo-Mar rib for a few months, then switched to a six inch S&W Model 19 for some months. I can't see for squat anymore.
But this last match I used an Alpha Projects with a six inch barrel in .32 S&W Long and did great at 25 yards, but things went "Ka-blooie" at 50 yards. My rounds strikes indicated key holing at 50 yards. Beats me. Average velocity of those loads was 700 +/- 25 fps measured by chronograph. And, unfortunately I've been too much a slug to go and shoot up some more to try and figure out what's up. But soon.
Two years. Holy moly.
"We must all hang together, or most assuredly we shall all hang separately."
Benjamin Franklin, July 4 1776
"There have been many wise warnings that freedom is seldom lost all at once. It is usually eroded away, bit by bit, until it is all gone. You may not notice a gradual erosion while it is going on, but you may eventually be shocked to discover one day that it is all gone, that we have been reduced from citizens to subjects, and the Constitution has become just a meaningless bunch of paper."
