The 6.5 MM load, bullet, round DIED A SLOW DEATH YEARS AGO!...(ugh, well...Hmmm..Limme see)
I just finished reading the article in my old 1973 Speer reloading manual. Yep, the fellas love the load, I was looking at the 6.5 x 55 Swede, as I had just bought one for $99 delivered.
But, they only had a few loads and weights and suggested the 6.5 was dying and they didn't know why it just didn't catch on in the USA.
So... know...please see the above attached link.
And, my son is building a 6.5 rifle in ...hmmm,,,what is the NEW 6.5? New case...same ole 6.5 round in a NEW bullet design. 6.5 Creedmore? 6.5 Grendal?
Yea... 6.5's are dying?? Yea sure. Sniper's Bullet of the Year..... I have a new barrel on my old Swede, 29 incher. Load data for the NEW rounds are indeed a bit hotter...BUT
6.5 DEAD? No,,,don't think so. The BC on the 140 grainer is BIG...you have to go to the 30 caliber in 200 grains to get what the 6.5, 140 grainer provides... AND, new bullet
designs from BARNES, BERGER et. al., .... No...don't think the ole 6.5 is going the way of the 30 Savage.... We will see what we will see.
Cheap, Fast, Good. Kindly pick two.
