The series 25 was another matter. I read on this board how one should wrap up the rifle in heavy canvas and shoot at the ground or a nearby berm for the first time. I didn't have any canvas,so I wrapped up most of the barrel and the reciever with carpet remenants, then used packing tape to hold it on. Wore heavy gloves and held it away from my face. First shot didn't ignite(spooky right there) so I loaded up another round. It fired but when I extracted the case it was blown 99% in half. I don't know how it held together when I extracted it. Case seperation about 1/2 inch above the rim. Shoulder of the case wasn't blown out or anything, looked normal except for almost being 2 peices of brass instead of one. I stopped there and will take it to a smith next week to see if theres any hope for it. Bummer.
BTW,I was using new norma factory 7.7 jap 180gr SP cartridges for both tests.
