Just signed on board and wanted to comment on what a nice forum it is. Got my C&R not too long ago and have collected a few Mosin Nagants and an SKS. Saw this forum mentioned on the Sig, came right over, checked it out and I'm glad I did.

Welcome to the forum and the fun, Steve. We would appreciate it if you would put whatever info you are comfortable with in your profile under "My Control Center" on the main page. Enjoy, and we look forward to both questions, and sharing your knowledge.

Hey Steve, thanks for joining up. Take a look at the link on the main page to the members map, if you haven't already, and find out if any Parallaxer's are in your area. I've met up with a number of guys in NC and gone shooting or cruised gun shows together, including our fearless leader. Add yourself to the map whenever you like.
Again, welcome, and see you around the boards. Chris |

Hi Spetznatz, glad you dropped in!
You'll ind our two sites are very like minded. Still, there's enough difference of opinions and experience to make following both advantageous. I suggest you check out the stickies and back pages of the forums of interest to you (if you have not already done so) to get a better feel for our site. Again, welcome.

Hello y'all.............just signed up as I discovered the forum while looking for information on the FN-49. This looks like a good place to hang out and
pick a few brains about my new interest (the FN-49). I'll try not to step on anyones toes and not to ask too many stupid questions.

Hello all.
Thought I'd best introduce myself. Looking forward to learning and participating. I've had the milsurp bug since I was 10 years old. That's 37 years now. |

Larry- welcome aboard. You go back a long time, just like I do. I think I started having an interest in them when I was about 12 or 13 years old, and I still
have fond memories of digging thru those cosmoline soaked rifles in the barrels set out in front to the hardware stores and the local Sears catalog store when
I was a kid.
Yes, I did that unmentionable thing here to them back then, but back in the early 1960's, that was a way of life. Us kids would buy up old Enfields and Mausers and see who could make the neatest hunting rifle out of it. I did a complete turn about later when I decided to maintain them as they were issued and personally, I am very strict on that now, probably due to my past. I will be 60 the end of June, so I have a few years under my belt with milsurps. Tell us a bit about what your collection may consist of and what particular ones are that you like the most. Curt |

Well, I've never chopped one, but I've owned a few.
As far as a favorite, never met one I didn't like. I prefer US, German, & British, but many others have found a home with me at one time or another. Vet captured are of particular interest. |

I figured that I should finally register after lurking for a while.
Thanks to all who have shared their knowledge. I've had my C&R for a while, but now I'm finally at the point in life where I can use it. |

Howdy Cooper and welcome to Parallax Bill's site! We're glad to have you join us.
And guess what. You're the last person that gets to introduce yourself into this topic. If you look, you'll notice it was started some 6 years ago in 2003! Time to retire this one I'd say, so I've locked it.
Diggerdan, Patt14, Averagejohn, you'll find your posts tucked together into one of the more recent "new member" topics. Diplomacy is the art of saying nice doggie until you can find a rock. Will Rogers
