Can someone explain to me how to post pictures as thumbnails that will open to the larger pic when clicked on? This saves forum space, doesn't it? I hate to take up too much space. My off topic posts have been bad enough.

I'm going to try and stop that!!!

...get a photobucket account. It's not too expensive and once you get your pics edited and uploaded there is a feature that writes all the code for you to copy and past into the forum or your choice and they will automatically come up in Thumbs.

Photobucket's accounts are not all that expensive and provide a very user friendly net storage for your pics to share with others. I've just about quit adding pics to my picture trail account and have been loading everything up to Photobucket mostly because of this feature.

I have their premium account and it cost $25 a year. And you can pay via Pay Pal, Credit cards or check or MO.

I'm not affiliated with them, I just like them.

Thanks Bill. I have the photobucket free account. That's how I post pictures now. I take it that I can't accomplish the thumbnails with the free account? Forgive my ignorance, but I know only slightly more about operating this computor than I do about piloting the Space Shuttle.... $:\$ Unfortuneatly, even your simple explanation eludes me. If I sign up for the premium account, maybe it will explain itself. I thought I remembered someone giving an explanation once that didn't involve using the picture host....?

To post thumbnails from your Photobucket free account do the following...

Passing your cursor over an image will bring up a detail box as shown. Click the check box. Select as many images as desired.

Go to the bottom of the page to "choose an action." That opens to a drop down box. From the options select "Generate link codes for selected."

For forums you'll want the coding inside the orange box (which I added for emphasis). As you can see, one set of coding is for clickable thumbnails and the other is for full size image. Just clicking over the desired coding will "copy" it then paste it into your text box to display images, as I have done here.

Just "paste" the copied coding into your text box and it will appear as images when you post.
